Design literacy is an academic/self-initiated project based on basic shapes. The project started with exploring the shape (square for my project) then carrying it into an outcome.

First stage was to explore the shape through various aspects, the second stage consisted to choose a path/meaning/direction from the first stage exploration and move ahead with it. The third and the last stage was to develop as outcome from the researches of the earlier stages.

My outcome of the project was 3D anamorphic typography. It is a physical 3D model of a letter form, which if seen from the left it shows a lower cap alphabet, from right side it shows an upper cap alphabet and from straight it forms a black square (my basic shape was square)

I started with observing LED displays in the environment. Then started to use square pieces of paper to create letterforms starting with simple LED type displays to more complex ones.
Then I started converting the paper squares into cubes, I realized when seen from the front it appears as the 2D letter form but when seen from different sides it appears to be distorted.
Under this theory I started exploring different anamorphic art forms.

My research concluded with an outcome in the form of 3D Anamorphic Typography.
